Carta Porte Supplement
One of the most important recent changes in Foreign Trade is the new CFDI supplement known as Carta Porte. Although it has undergone adjustments and its effective date has been postponed, it is vitally important for all of us to understand the key aspects we must pay attention to regarding this new supplement.
Waybill | Most Important Aspects of the CFDI Supplement
Here are five key points about the Carta Porte Supplement:
The addition of this CFDI supplement is intended to prove the legal possession and transport of goods during their transportation within the country, whether of foreign or domestic origin, in order to prevent smuggling and informal trade in Mexico.
It must describe the goods being transported, the route being followed, and the purpose of transporting those goods.
As of January 1, 2022, it became mandatory to have this supplement and ensure that all the information it contains is correctly declared.
Whenever goods are transported within the country, they must be accompanied by the digital CFDI file or its printed representation.
There are two types of supplements: the Transfer-type CFDI and Income-type CFDI. The use of either one will depend on who is transporting the goods.
